img_6073We had one mission – Amsterdam to Athens AKA 2,869kms.

We needed to do it “quickly” but also within the bounds of our Eurail pass, which meant land travel was already paid for, and a significant portion of our sea pass was paid for – to put this in context, at the time we were looking the cheapest flights from Amsterdam to Athens as just over โ‚ฌ400 for the both of us – our trip cost us around โ‚ฌ260. How to get around Europe?

Europe is a “big place” – certainly as far as size of continent goes it isn’t the biggest place on earth, however there are a fair number of countries squeezed in there. ย So when we started to think about where we wanted to go, we realised quickly that our dream list of cities are spread across a reasonable distance.
